The Sacramento County Office of Education hosts quarterly meetings for Coordinators of English Learner programs in Sacramento County. Administrators from districts throughout the Capital Service Region (Region 3) are welcome to attend.

The purpose of these meetings is to provide timely, relevant, and reliable information on English Learner legislation such as the Every Student Succeeds Act and policy such as the English Learner Roadmap implementation.

Additionally, meetings offer best practices to meet state and federal accountability requirements and resources for assisting districts to increase student achievement across all subgroups. Staff from the California Department of Education and other agencies are frequently invited to present new information and answer questions. Participants value the opportunity to collaborate and share information with colleagues from other districts. Members are asked to disseminate information provided to them during meetings to the schools in their districts.

    This session will be facilitated by the National Equity Project in partnership with the Sacramento County Office of Education. It will take place in-person at SCOE in the Board Room.Districts and school sites in the Sacramento County are encouraged to bring small teams to this professional learning event. CAASPP New Coordinator Training (150)

Held by our county office of education (COE) partners, this training for new CAASPP coordinators will focus on preparing for summative testing, the Test Operation Management System (TOMS), and coordinator checklist activities.

This training for new CAASPP coordinators is held by the Sacramento County Office of Education in partnership with the California Department of Education, El Dorado County Office of Education and Placer County Office of Education. The training will focus on preparing coordinators who have been in their role for less than 12 months for a successful administration of the CAASPP assessments by reviewing upcoming coordinator activities and allowing attendees to ask questions of experienced CAASPP coordinators.

Training materials and lunch will be provided. $50.00 to attend.
