The five-day Yoshimoto Orton Gillingham basic training is a 40-hour comprehensive, interactive, and empowering course that focuses on learning and implementing the Yoshimoto OG approach to support all learners from preschool to adult. This flexible (non-scripted), comprehensive system all learners in all settings including individuals with dyslexia. classroom teachers, reading interventionists, special education teachers, reading specialists, speech language pathologists, tutors, and home-school parents.

The Sacramento County Office of Education hosts quarterly meetings for Coordinators of English Learner programs in Sacramento County. Administrators from districts throughout the Capital Service Region (Region 3) are welcome to attend.
The purpose of these meetings is to provide timely, relevant, and reliable information on English Learner legislation such as the Every Student Succeeds Act and policy such as the English Learner Roadmap implementation. Additionally, meetings offer best practices to meet state and federal accountability requirements and resources for assisting districts to increase student achievement across all subgroups. Staff from the California Department of Education and other agencies are frequently invited to present new information and answer questions. Participants value the opportunity to collaborate and share information with colleagues from other districts. Members are asked to disseminate information provided to them during meetings to the schools in their districts. The purpose of this Community of Practice is to bring together administrators and teachers from high schools in our counties to build their capacity to teach Ethnic Studies. This CoP will: 1. Support districts with information regarding state graduation requirements, model curriculum, and support implementation. 2. Share updates from state & regional California Regional Ethnic Studies Collaborative Project (Project CRESC). 3. Identify and collaborate to address varied district needs. 4. Held by our county office of education (COE) partners, this training for new CAASPP coordinators will focus on preparing for summative testing, the Test Operation Management System (TOMS), and coordinator checklist activities.
This training for new CAASPP coordinators is held by the Sacramento County Office of Education in partnership with the California Department of Education, El Dorado County Office of Education and Placer County Office of Education. The training will focus on preparing coordinators who have been in their role for less than 12 months for a successful administration of the CAASPP assessments by reviewing upcoming coordinator activities and allowing attendees to ask questions of experienced CAASPP coordinators.
